VR Projects

College  Project:  VR / AR Project (Unity) (2019 - 2020)

Individual project

This project was my first VR project.

Originally designed to have 2 people playing one inside the game in VR and one person on the out side using their phone using a AR app pointed at QR code to see a hologram map with clues and items highlighted.

The goal of the game was the person using AR on their phones would help the player in VR to escape by communicating to them what they see and where to find the items.

The person in VR then would communicate what they see and what happened when they interacted with the items to solve the puzzles to then escape the room.

The first working puzzle is 9 colour coded door puzzle.

This game was inspired by Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Popular PC game on Steam at the time.

Sadly this project was canceled when the 2020 Pandemic hit and the lost access to VR equipment.

DISCLAIMERS

The game primarily  used Valve's Steam VR Interaction system and movement system to allow the player to move and interact with objects. So only the puzzles them self was coded by me.

Conclusion

I loved working on this project and was a change of pace programming in C# but I am not well versed in C#. I learned that planning was important when it comes to puzzle games and has to be targeted at the target audience so that players don't get bored or confused by the puzzles.
